Northlane has released a new video for “Carbonized,” their latest single. The song will be featured on their upcoming sixth album, Obsidian, which will be released on the Believe label on April 22, 2022. Pre-orders are now available at the following link. You can see it right here!
“Carbonized” is an important song that calls for predators and abusers to be held accountable. You can sense Marcus Bridge’s primal roar hunting offenders out of the shadows and into the harsh light of day to ultimately face their reckoning, which is driven by a visceral performance by frontman Marcus Bridge. “Carbonized” is obnoxious and confrontational, which is exactly the objective.
“We must begin holding pedophiles and abusers accountable for the heinous acts they have committed,” Bridge explains. “The phrase separate the artist from the work’ is frequently used to minimize and deflect the harm that these individuals — often males in positions of authority — have caused to those around them. Whether it’s manipulating minors or putting a hit out on your wife, it astounds me that their latest single is so heavy that fans will forget everything about it. Not the artists who are continuing their careers as if nothing occurred, but the victims. This song serves as a gentle reminder.”
Following the release of “Echo Chamber” and “Plenty,” “Carbonized” will be released.
Obsidian will be a watershed moment for Northlane, as it will be the band’s first self-released album. Northlane has forged on as a completely self-contained entity, eschewing the music industry’s intrigues in order to seize complete control of their career. They recently took another step ahead by opening their Worldeaters Patreon, which sold out in less than 24 hours.
