Om Du Vill by Silvermannen: EP Review
Silvermannen is the side project of Tobias Borelius, who also happens to be the vocalist and lyricist for Emerald Park. Through the project, Tobias makes his way softly and slowly through a confined sonic space with an aesthetic element. Silvermannenโs 4-piece โOm Du Villโ comprises of 3 2022 special remixes and the matching title song. Albeit short, with just 14 minutes of music, the EP is packed with some unique sounds pursing out a surprising element as the songs flow from one to another.
The EP kickstarts with the title song, with inspiring continuous percussion and some synthesizers that add a somewhat disco-fied experience which will get you amped up for the upcoming tracks. After this, you have the soothing vocals of Tobias accompanied by calmer afternoon melodies in โSprickor,โ and then โKullarmaโ paces it up all too pleasingly and then pulls you to a feel-good magical track โGryning.โ
Upon the requests of one Carl Granberg (Haley Reinheart, Bob Hund, etc.) Tobias attempted to remix the Swedish numbers โSprickorโ, โKullarmaโ and โGryningโ. These were all recorded previously and published while he was recovering from a surgery. A buddy of Tobiasโs called Mattias, who is known for providing constructive criticism, also gives this a huge thumbs up keeping his bias aside, which adds to my likeness of the stunning EP โOm Du Villโ. So, give yourself a 15-minute break from all thatโs going on in your life right now and treat yourself to Silvermannenโs charm and his atmospheric music.
