Relate. releases melodic new song ‘Levitation’
The second single from the upcoming extended play album ‘Chemical Condition’ by the Denver-based Pop Punk band Relate. (with a period) is called ‘Levitation’, and it was made available for streaming on January 20th. Have you ever dreamed about someone and wondered if they were dreaming about you too? This is the question posed in the song ‘Levitation’, which was inspired by the idea of a fever dream.
Even though it was the final song written for the band Relate’s second release and was written before the band had even been in the same room, frontman Duncan Slack views ‘Levitation’ as the band’s first truly great song. On an old acoustic guitar during a few late-night bedroom floor recording sessions, Slack first wrote the chord progression, lyrics, and melody. The entire song was written the first time the band all got in the same room. Fitzgerald added his distinctive dreamy shoegaze-like guitar stylings, Dalton added his melodic riffs, and Valenzuela tied it all together with his syncopated post-hardcore percussion style.
