After years of building an impressive résumé behind the scenes as a songwriter, producer, and arranger, RM2 steps firmly into the spotlight with Chasing Tisshko. This self-written, self-produced, and self-arranged R&B project showcases his own artistic identity. Having worked alongside some of the biggest names in music, including Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Céline Dion, Jay-Z, Chris Brown, and many more, RM2 channels that wealth of experience into a collection that values smooth songwriting, polished production, and timeless soul over passing trends. Rather than relying on star power from past collaborations, Chasing Tisshko allows the Grammy-winning artist’s own voice and vision to take center stage.
The opening track, “R&V,” immediately establishes the EP’s mellow atmosphere. Finger snaps punctuate an immersive instrumental while RM2’s silky vocals glide effortlessly across the groove. The performance remains cool, confident, and understated, allowing the production’s rich textures to breathe while drawing listeners into the project’s relaxed late-night mood.
Things continue seamlessly with the title track, “Tisshko,” which further develops the record’s contemporary R&B aesthetic through smooth melodies and refined production. RM2 keeps the momentum flowing with effortless vocal control, maintaining an intimate atmosphere that never feels overproduced.
Meanwhile, “Size 15 Ring” shifts the emotional focus. Gentle acoustic guitar strums soften the arrangement as RM2 delivers one of his most sincere vocal performances on the EP. His warm delivery gives the song a heartfelt quality, emphasizing romance and devotion while demonstrating his versatility as both a vocalist and songwriter.
The remaining tracks, “Rose Panties” and “Nine Months,” round out the release with increasingly soulful performances that reinforce the project’s emotional depth. Throughout the EP, RM2 balances modern R&B production with classic songwriting sensibilities, creating songs that prioritize melody, feeling, and authenticity. Chasing Tisshko ultimately serves as an assured introduction to RM2 as a solo artist, proving that after years of shaping music for others, he has plenty of compelling stories and smooth grooves of his own to share.
