Running Up That Hill by Vlad in Tears: Review
โRunning Up That Hillโ is the second single from the upcoming album โPorporaโ by Vlad in Tears. It is a gothic rock version cover of Kate Bushโs song โRunning Up That Hill.โ Kate Bushโs version spiked up in the charts after the Netflix series Stranger Things featured that song in it. After that, this song was covered by many bands and one of them was Vlad in Tears, who did a great job in covering it.
The track begins with a synth sound that sounds like wind blowing along with a keyboard tune in a retro style, and the constant panning of the synth from left to right was amazing. Then comes the deep voice of the vocalist that captured the feel of the track, when the song gets to the chorus part, he shouts and the transition is amazingly smooth. The part where only the vocalist and the pianist were working their charm is absolutely hypnotizing. The bass work and the guitar work are energetic, and some of the guitar parts are just face-meltingly impressive. The drumming, with its double pedal work and perfect hit on the snare, and the rolls that have been put on the track, are marvelous.
All in all, it was a perfect cover of Kate Bushโs song โRunning Up That Hill,โ where Vlad in Tears did it justice with their unique additions. They have made it their own while preserving its old flavors.
