Scandal Tree released flaming new song ‘One Way Road’
The debut EP ‘Layin’ Down Your Cards’ by Australian hard-rockers Scandal Tree was inspired by recent chances, past decisions, and chugging rock’n’roll.
‘Layin’ Down Your Cards’ is rooted in the everyday with songs that address the struggles people encounter on a daily basis. The remaining members of Scandal Tree occasionally contemplated folding or laying down their cards and showing their true cards after the departure of their fellow musicians and close friends, Jase and Adam.
From the classic rock of ‘Nothin’ To Lose’ to the following single, ‘One Way Road’, the EP is a barrage of high-energy riffage; it hints at Californian hardcore with razor guitars and matter-of-factly focuses on the perseverance needed to succeed. From there, songs like ‘Long Goodbye’, which address the slow demise of a relationship and the knowledge that a difficult decision is coming, continue the breadth of rock with its post-grunge flair.
