Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon by Enlightenment Saloon: Album Review

Time and music have a connection reflected among many artists in the industry. Today, that essence is brought on by pop rock sensation Enlightenment Saloon. Their sound pays homage to vintage hits from yesteryear and adds a modern twist. This is beautifully portrayed in each rock and acoustic layer of the album “Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon.”
The record opens up with “New Normal”, a powerful rock number with a commanding presence at the mic. Aside from that, energetic guitars steal the show through fast-paced strumming, with an equally enticing keyboard section. The next track “Margo Bought a Bridge,” is a poetic masterpiece with a soft piano piece guiding the way. Hearing it made me think about a scene taking place in a film, and that feeling was elevated when the percussions joined in. As I progressed further into the album, the acoustic allure of “Across the Sea” and “Mormon Cowboy” fascinated me. It had a beautiful cadence with guitars and pianos, while the second one captures a more country aesthetic. In addition to that, Scott’s heartwarming vocals draw us in.
Songs such as “Another Roller Coaster” and “Take Me to Hong Kong” are the soul of rock and roll. It’s impossible to back away from the music alongside stellar guitar riffs with an infectious energy leading you to jam out. Scott DL was backed in the studio by Gerard Estella, Jim Coates, Lincoln Ginsberg, Dave Nanke, and Aurélie Berta, whose vocals I assume are on the bluesy song “Heat Island.”
