Stephen Philip Harvey released entrancing song ‘O Come, O Come, Emmanuel’
The Stephen Philip Harvey Octet’s first recording is titled ‘O Come, O Come, Emmanuel’. On November 25, 2022, it was made available with Next Level (an imprint of Outside In Music). This traditional tune is typically heard in music that is solemn and reverent. However, the upbeat contemporary jazz setting of this original arrangement sends the song into overdrive. Tenor saxophonist Stephen Philip Harvey and drummer Tommy Lehman each take solos on this song (trumpet).
Stephen Philip Harvey, a young saxophonist and composer, is the bandleader. Harvey plays tenor saxophone, Chris Coles plays alto saxophone, Tommy Lehman plays trumpet, Reggie Watkins plays trombone, Dan Bruce plays guitar, Theron Brown plays keyboard, Tony DePaolis plays bass, and Dustin May plays trombone (drums). These musicians have locations all over the Mid-Atlantic, including New York City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Akron, Ohio, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
