Subseconds released flaming new song ‘Joists’
‘Liminal Rain’ is a cathartic, emotionally intense debut by Finland-based Subseconds. Four genre-bending, deeply personal songs explore loss and engrossing liminality. Pain and healing, denial and acceptance, love and doubt, certainty and insincerity are at the heart of ‘Liminal Rain’. It’s a love letter to emotional ownership.
‘Liminal Rain’ is a 20-minute journey without filler. With each song exploring uncharted territory, the album creates a vibe that stays with the listener long after the music ends. ‘Liminal Rain’ is genre-less and flows easily. From the kick-in-the-gut start of ‘Colours and You’ to the ethereal last notes of ‘Thoroughfares’, the EP is energetic and heart-wrenching.
Sergei Kopytin, a Finnish songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, uses his immersive, carefully crafted soundscapes as a therapy-like outlet. The EP is a genuine exercise in self-discovery and insight. The record release is accompanied by a surreal, short-film-like music video for ‘Joists’.
