A Certain Someone has released his latest dream-pop single, “Suburbian,” this Jan 12. “Suburbian” is an ambient dream-pop gem that masterfully blends atmospheric elements with contemplative lyrics and rich instrumentals.
The song builds with a synth beat akin to a heartbeat, rhythmically carrying us throughout the track. On top of that, the electric guitar chimes dreamily, creating an immersive sonic landscape over the beat.
Helmed by René Arbeithuber, A Certain Someone is the solo artist behind “Suburbian.” His rich and tender vocals contribute to the song’s introspective mood, delivered with a slow and contemplative pace that complements the dream-pop aesthetic. The bridge introduces a climactic period, with rising instrumentals that elevate the emotional intensity of the composition. The comes with some ambient electronic textures and guitar flowing alongside, which raise the bar on the sound. But what comes up, goes down. So does the music when it starts to descend and reach a viable conclusion to the song.
A Certain Someone’s guitarwork is influenced by Slowdive, Ride, and The Sundays. He does, however, connect with the moods of Interpol, PJ Harvey, and Depeche Mode. The artist is known to have entertained various genres like indie, shoegaze, 80s dream pop, 50s rockabilly, and hip-hop. His eclectic intrigues contribute to the unique character of “Suburbian.”
Listen to “Suburbian” by A Certain Someone aka René Arbeithuber to feel the tendrils of sound and dreamily make an escapade to unknown celestial fields.
