Sweetheart by Haley Fishberger: Review
Haley Fishberger is a fearless performer and music producer who found her fire in Miami and took it west to L.A. Her music has been dubbed โPersona Pop,โ a form of pop with a cinematic flavor and a lot of personality. Each song is delivered by her with vast melodies, dramatic hits, bi-conically honest lyrics, unvarnished humor, and a genuine warmth that helps people connect with themselves and each other.
The self-produced pop/rock anthem Sweetheart is a full-on brawl. Too many women have shared their experiences of being objectified in all aspects of their lives, from the early hours to late at night, in public spaces like parks and bars, and even at performances. What do you think will happen? The ability to shrug off and forget about it. Haley Fishberger in โSweetheartโ disagrees and is unafraid to be scathingly honest and direct in the face of disrespect and she does it in the most Rock n Roll fashion possible. She puts these โencountersโ in each verse over a groovy bass, a beautiful organ, and scintillating piano. As the song progresses, the grit in her soaring but at the same time, seductive voice increases. ย The full range of her vocals comes to light towards the end of the third verse where she goes all out mixing several vocal techniques and styles from soul to jazz to rock as the full band comes down crashing in a beautiful crescendo.
