SYNTHETIC by Nicky Buell: Review

Nicky Buell is a visionary in songwriting. His track “SYNTHETIC” is a funky tune that brings personality and rhythmic attitude to the table. Here get a glimpse of these remarkable lyrics –
“Society tells me my body’s unhealthy
If I look like those models we see on our tv Screen
Try every diet to keep our conscious quiet
We starve ourselves in private just to feed the desirability -y-y-y”

The song begins with a crisp voice entering the background. In addition to that, layers of a minimal piano arrangement will calm your ears. The bass line drives right in like a blues track, and the singer’s voice feels really personal, passionate, and just clear as the blue sky. The drum tracks are all over the place with stylized rolls. Then, it booms into a sensational proper beat.

When the verse enters it feels like such a funky number. The bass guitar portions are absolutely poppin’, it just oozes coolness. I truly enjoy the vibe this song gives off. It’s an indie track with Pop influences. The lyrical themes are thought-provoking and full of intention. You can truly hear the songwriter’s feeling all over the track. It’s genuine, it’s colorful, and moody all at the same time. I enjoy how the transitions happen because the drum arrangements play a big part in this, and how they switch from one tempo groove to another is a sign of a pro artist. Something wholesome takes place in the end when the singer just straight up tells the listeners a statement, and it’ll just brighten up your day!
