The Bight of Benin by DoosC: Review

DoosC’s “The Bight of Benin” possesses an energetic intensity that will have you moving with its pulsating beats and West African rhythms. This EDM-infused number captures the allure of melodic pop with its diverse sound.

Pertaining to the fusion of jungle beats, Caribbean cool, and electronica “The Bight of Benin” charms its way into the scene. The opening has a playful section accompanied by a weighty bass and xylophone pieces. Eventually, a tribal drum piece arrives which later on transitions into a full-blown club extravaganza. At this point of the song with its catchy vocal hooks, anyone would be charged up to dance in a frenzy. “The Bight of Benin” reaches an interesting phase in the middle where a psychedelic trance melody initiates. With an abundance of resonance present, this song would connect beautifully with the representation of World Cup fever in soccer. There’s something about its allure that I believe would drive sports fans ecstatic. Combine an EDM track with a strong African influence and entire stadiums would chant to the beat.

Aside from the rhythmic force of “The Bight of Benin” by DoosC, there’s also a charming atmospheric element present here. The heartfelt sections of the song where the synthesizers are expressed on a higher scale were quite peaceful to hear. If you ever wondered what underwater music would sound like, then this track’s rhythm pieces would definitely contribute to that essence.
