Grunge and Alt Rock musicians Trapt are back with a new EP, The Fall(Teaser 2). This five-song collection is a punchy reminder of why Trapt became a rock mainstay, showcasing Chris Taylor Brownโs signature raspy vocals and the bandโs knack for crafting catchy, hard-hitting tunes.
The Fall(Teaser 2) opens with โHalo,โ a song that shimmers its guitar riffs against heavy drums. Brownโs vocals drip with desperate charisma as he pleads for an โangelโ and a โhaloโ to guide him back from his mistakes. Itโs a powerful opening track that sets the tone for a journey of self-reflection and redemption.
โThink of Youโ shifts gears with its subdued melody and reverb-drenched vocals. Brown sings of a love so deep it borders on selflessness. Itโs a refreshingly honest take on devotion. This love song is more about dedication than empty sweetness.
The EP closes with โSafe Here in the Shade,โ bringing the energy back up with driving guitar melodies and hard-hitting drums. Brownโs voice takes on a sharp, tense edge that doubles on the urgency of escaping chaos. But the imagery of him offering a place of refuge from the worldโs chaos is rather giving, generous, and kind of him. The catchy and rhythmic โHey-hey-hey-heyโ refrain against the energetic instrumentals creates a contrasting, relaxing, and soothing feel that might just work wonders during live performances.
โThe Fallโ is the second strong appetizer for Traptโs upcoming full-length album. Whether youโre a longtime Trapt fan or discovering their sound, this EP is a must-listen.
Stay tuned for the full album drop this May 31. And catch Trapt on their โParental Advisory Tourโ with Josey Scott (Saliva), Adema, and Tantric!
