โThe Huntโ by Kobanova makes an entry with their vocalist Jimmy Riemerโs fronted unitary vocals and a light acoustic guitar playing in the back. The instruments slowly incorporate themselves into the instrumental mix, and the folksy, Americana rhythm starts becoming more and more apparent with every chord of the bubblegum guitar. Riemerโs voice makes the folk music flesh out with that so very familiar thin, husky timbre and rawness in the lyricism.
Wes Bacastow comes with his electric guitar to bestow upon us that concoction of rock blended with folk. And there are the drums that give the song its momentum and zest, played by the ever-so-talented and promising drummer Ripken Walker. But thatโs not where it ends. We get pianos too! Talk aboutโbuy 1, get ALL free. Chris Dickson renders a fine performance, with a dark piano undertone coloring the music blue.
Kobanova intends to bring out that Americana spirit with their southern twang hanging in the guitar solo, but also tends to get the blues touch to it with โThe Hunt,โ their first single from their next EP.
But behind all this perfectly played music, Kobanova presents a character on the โrun from feelingโ while their partner tries to break down the walls and hunts for the truth behind their apparent apathy. It could also be about a caring friend or loved one trying to reach out, but their emotional avoidance is barricading them from feeling anything.
All in all, the song sends a message about the aftermath of much suffering, where we are left with no tears and numbed to a point. The Americana tune helps carry the message. That makes our carriers, Kobanova, successful with what they have carried to their debut so far! Check out โThe Huntโ by Kobanova today!
