The video for “Open” is shared by Dylan Sinclair. DYLAN SINCLAIR’S NEW EP, NO LONGER IN THE SUBURBS, EMBRACES CHANGE.
Dylan Sinclair’s second EP, No Longer in the Suburbs, illustrates how moving away from the suburbs changes the dynamics of his relationships.
The 20-year-old Toronto-based artist shares the obstacles he is having while transitioning, from unexpectedly filling an auditorium with 200 people at his first gig to now coming to the city to pursue his music career.
Almost every word on this silky R&B record is caressed by delicate melodies and decants. As instrumentals string throughout the project, his smooth alto voice slips beneath the rhymes.
In addition to the EP’s release, the 2021 JUNO candidate performed some of his most recent singles at the 2022 Juno Awards on Thursday, May 12th.
Dylan Sinclair has been making waves in the music industry since the beginning of the year, partnering with YouTube Black Voices artist Savannah Ré on her tune “Last One” and releasing graphics for his own songs. Sinclair is on the move in both “Suppress” and “Lifetime,” saying goodbye to the suburbs and his buddies. The Filipino-Guyanese singer-songwriter kicks it in the back seat while driving somewhere fresh, peacefully expecting what comes next. These tracks have received over one million streams in total.
As the artist to watch in 2022 continues to draw attention to his music, he is looking forward to what is to come.
“No Longer in the Suburbs really represents the search for that stimulation, that faster life, or those experiences that you can look back on when you’re older and say, yeah, I experienced that with people I love,” Sinclair adds.
The Toronto native hopes to kick his career into high gear with a performance at one of Canada’s most prestigious jazz festivals in Montréal.
