‘This Happiness’ is the new single by Of Monsters And Men. The song serves as a prelude to the group’s upcoming EP and documentary, ‘TIU,’ which will be released on June 10.
Of Monsters and Men have released their new single, “This Happiness,” as well as the video for the song, which you can see below.
The group’s upcoming EP, TU (meaning “Ten” in Icelandic), and accompanying documentary, both titled TU (meaning “Ten” in Icelandic), will be released on June 10th. The film follows the band on a journey around Iceland, directed by their buddy Dean DeBlois (Heima, Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon).
When their Fever Dream globe tour was cut short due to the pandemic, Of Monsters And Men instead intimately performed their new songs in unique spots across Iceland that are precious to the five of them, similar to how they did on their first tour ten years ago. There were no large venues, festivals, or crowds…just the five of them at the start.
TU will have its international premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022, and will be screened on June 9 in New York City, with the band performing a few songs from the film. The official premiere will take place on June 9th at 8:00pm. The official website of the Tribeca Film Festival has tickets and more information.
To add to the praises, Of Monsters and Men have released the official vinyl for their platinum debut album, My Head Is An Animal (10th Anniversary Edition), which honors a decade of critical acclaim. The anniversary edition features two previously unreleased tracks, and the band played a series of intimate hometown gigs at Gamla Bio last fall as part of the release, which were livestreamed to fans all over the world from Reykjavik, Iceland.
Fever Dream, Of Monsters And Men’s most recent studio album, has racked up over 80 million total listens to date, as well as praise from Billboard, NPR, The Line of Best Fit, Independent, Paste, and others. “The songs also have an emotional element to them that is impossible to ignore,” Clash Magazine said.
