Transcending Into the Unknown by Filip Dahl, pzyroks, Stian Dahl: Review
Music is an emotion that is evocative of the artist’s technique. Luckily, we get to hear the distinct tones of three amazing guitarists. Filip Dahl, his son Stian, and pzyroks, AKA Robert Dahl, Filip’s brother, collaborate for a melodic unison. The Dahl family owns the prog rock/metal theme with their intricate guitar sound. Thus, their dexterity and divine timbre arrive in the song “Transcending Into the Unknown.”
Each guitarist has a solo in sections of the track, and their playstyle is distinguished by classic metal, prog rock, and symphonic metal. It was a treat to hear each portion and the emotions that tagged along. As a guitarist myself, I found it pretty intriguing to analyze the phrasing and overall arrangement of each piece. Every pull, bend, and shredding segment blew me away and captivated my very soul. Aside from that, “Transcending Into the Unknown” is mostly a slow-paced hymn with incredibly moving guitar melodies. It doesn’t speed up but rather maintains a mellow tempo where guitars, synths, bass, and drums overflow. Altogether, the instruments form a bond that hooks us in and keeps us entertained for a good while.
“Transcending Into the Unknown” as a song can be interpreted however you please. It can be a philosophical dive into the uninitiated through a powerful timbre. Or, it can be a midnight escapade to an open destination while intense guitar pieces keep you thrilled. Choose your destiny, and don’t miss out on this track!
