Tripgnosis ft. Monroe Sound Science by Silvermouse: Review
“Tripgnosis” is progressive rock music at its finest! It’s a nearly seven-minute-long track by Silvermouse featuring Monroe Sound Science and has a resonant melody from start to finish. “Tripgnosis” begins with a mysterious ambient piece that progresses into a psychedelic rock segment, and all manner of percussions follow with it.
Silvermouse’s musical diversity is impressive. At first, I imagined “Tripgnosis” to be a drone-inspired track fit for meditation. However, I was surprised when a rush of drums rolled in, and a fat synth piece tagged along. Out of all the parts in this track, the most intriguing one was the inclusion of the tabla. It’s a classical percussion instrument, and a groovy one at that too. I thoroughly enjoyed its inclusion in “Tripgnosis” as well as the psychedelic rock attributes that came along with it. Being an avid fan of the aforementioned genre, I’ve had the privilege to listen to a few vinyl records from a nostalgic hippie era. I say privilege because I wasn’t born in the 1960s, and owning a device that plays vinyl records flawlessly costs a fortune. Hearing Silvermouse’s melody definitely struck a chord within me and made me appreciate the progressive nature of such genres.
Music is a language that doesn’t require much effort to grasp. Once you hear a relaxing tune, your mind just gives in and the experience can be quite memorable. Similarly, the melody of “Tripgnosis” had this effect, especially when the astounding tabla portions kicked in.
