UNdONe by Rebecka Larsdotter: Album Review

Rebecka Larsdotter is a Swedish-born Pop artist whose album “UNdONe” is something spectacular. Composed of twelve delightful tracks, it imbues a musical flair of dance, emotional piano numbers, and an all-around soothing vocal performance. There’s an overwhelming inclusion of electronica, so, to those who enjoy the intensity of that genre, please don’t miss out on “UNdONe!”
As we initiate to explore Rebecka’s vocal talents, the opening track “Turn Your Back” arises. Her voice is smooth and heartfelt, it is evident by blending a high-pitched resonance with more sentimental lows. You’d be mesmerized by the deep bass notes and stellar danceable tune pulsating from the atmospheric synthesizers. Moving on to “Tonight”, energized my senses. The reason lies with that incredible synth-wave style bass segment and the artist’s melodic voice that connects perfectly with this progression. At times emotional, and also eccentric, it’s truly a number fit for a quiet drive around the city. Especially when the piano parts come along, you’d feel elements of ascension charging up!
So far, the album is quite catchy, and just when I thought there was more to it, I wasn’t disappointed. “Through” is probably the funkiest track thus far, involving a groovy rhythm section with slapping bass and electric guitar portions. Truly a smashing rhythm section, it’s tough not to sway your head to the flow of the track. “Undone” is one of the more sorrowful tracks from the album. Incorporating subtle piano sequences with wholesome vocal pieces, made this one a wonderful ambient piece.
