With a folky, blackened new single, SAOR goes beyond the wall.
Saor, a Caledonian black metal band, is streaming their new single “Beyond The Wall” now. The song is an ethereal track that blends folky music with lyrical black metal, culminating in a massive choral conclusion. A music video directed by Guilherme Henriques accompanies the tune.
“‘Beyond the Wall’ refers to the Antonine Wall, which extended through the middle belt of Scotland to keep the Caledonians/Picts at away,” Saor creator Andy Marshall explained. “Because they were not under Roman rule, the song is about their freedom and the grandeur and mystery of the countries beyond the wall.”
