With his new single, โSilent Romance,โ Andrew Caryl offers a distinct hip-hop/trap/indie infused pop flavor.
โSilent Romanceโ is the result of a year-long endeavor by Caryl to create a sound that combines the rhythmic components of trap/hip-hop with the catchy melodies and vocal delivery of contemporary indie pop music. It features the songwriting of Caryl and Steven Thompson as well as the voice of okafuwa.
According to Caryl, she set out to make a sound that was โmotivated by the mild mayhem of trap beats blended with a light indie atmosphere and lathered with appealing, yet melancholic, pop melodies.โ Years ago, Steven wrote several tunes that turned out to be the ideal fit for the mood. We are incredibly proud of the sound we have produced by giving the music a voice through okafuwa. The first of numerous future releases that adhere to this new sound is called โSilent Romance.โ
According to Thompson, the song โSilent Romanceโ has the notion of unreachable love as its central theme in its lyrics. Almost everyone can relate to this narrative at some point or multiple times during their lives. For me, it most certainly has been. I wrote it after I first met this girl; I had been dreaming about her for years because I didnโt think it was likely that we would ever cross paths again. She still appears in my dreams.
