You were the One by Cooper Castelle: Review
Cooper Castelleโs June release โYou were the oneโ is here to provoke the loneliness of a young man in an energetic rock n roll.
You could easily interpret the lyrics for a guy singing about the one that got away.ย But we imagine a typical high school teen crisis about life from his garage. Itโs as if he is holding on to dear life.ย You can totally picture a kid and his friends jamming away for one last session before one of them sets off to college.ย The other is set on his ways, trying to get away from the same old surroundings, in the hopes of pursuing his music career. But there is always that one friend who is left behind. The main guy.ย The one that used to be the life of every party and a straight beer pong champion. The guy who fell in love with the most desirable, mystical girl in class, and had life all figured out.ย
Now everyone is moving on or moving away, and life is shifting its course. Heโs left behind. And now doubt crosses his mind and he isnโt sure what the purpose is anymore.ย Suddenly, he knows weโre all going to die anyway.ย Imagine all that while you bang your head to the catchy drums and indie-rock electric and bass guitar. There is a reminiscent of The Kinks in the beat and a carefree, raspiness in Cooperโs voice.ย
If you want to check out more of his creation, Cooper Castelle continues to give us upbeat sounds for those who like witty lyrics about the simpler things in life.
