8th by Joe St. Pierre: Review
Joe St. Pierre shares a melody for the heartbroken as a sort of guiding light dedicated to the emotionally wounded. The track “8th” has a very serene and lofi vibe. A beautiful acoustic melody surrounds the song making it atmospheric and wholesome. According to the artist, the song “8th” is about moving on after a failed romantic relationship and allowing yourself to feel optimistic, but also reflecting on the past and being engulfed in sadness. The tune sheds focus on the positive aspects of the artist’s life that they will always be able to rely on and are aware will never be taken away from them.
The song has a delicate mixture of bass-heavy guitar chords that scream tragedy. Its remedy is heartwarming but at the same time pulls on the deepest corners of your emotions and wraps itself around them. The singer’s tone is filled with a wave of melancholy and their presence is duly felt throughout the track. With some light percussive elements, the track has an old-timey vibe, particularly because the production quality has a vintage tone of something from the 50s, it is quite marvelous to hear!
Heartbreak tracks are either a hit or miss. Fortunately, 8th by Joe St. Pierre grips that emotive angle from listeners and ensures that the tale and tune will be relatable. All in all, the track is a melancholic but magical melody worth exploring.
