“Abject” by Dan Becker is not just an album comprised of 13 instrumental tracks; it is a track filled with Dan’s powerful emotions, as represented by his master piano skills. Influenced by alternative rock, “Abject” will take you on an emotional journey from beginning to end, which is no surprise because this album emerged from the life-changing events that occurred in Dan’s life.
‘Morning Rush” opens this album with a short track comprised of two different melodies: a tranquil tune followed up by a more urgent one. “Check” is a powerful track with a catchy soundscape. “Cataclysm” is a stark contrast from the first two tracks; it is loud and chaotic, with elements of alternative rock holding true to this track’s title name.
“Antagony” is soul-stirring with a dark mood, this track encapsulates the inner turmoil of being uneasy with oneself, while “The Wait” is more positive in contrast yet is a bittersweet melody laced with melancholy.
“Verdict” has a serene soundscape in the first half of the track, which represents the few moments of peace before the final judgment is passed which is represented by the chaotic melody in the latter half of the song. “Retrospect” brings “Abject” to a close with a meloncholious ending.
Listen to “Abject” by Dan Becker to get lost in a world of piano carrying a powerful emotive message through its melody.
