The Numb Project, helmed by producer Chris Calarco, has gifted us with a captivating and immersive EP titled “Abstract Facts.” Released on May 5th, 2023, this four-track project delves into the realms of atmospheric downtempo and psychedelic glitch hop, offering a unique sonic experience.
Drawing inspiration from the turn of the millennium trip-hop era and downtempo dub, with echoes of influential acts, The Numb Project skillfully blends elements of the past and present to create a cohesive and thought-provoking sonic landscape.

I was particularly taken by the EP’s title track, “Abstract Facts,” which encapsulates the essence of the project with its evocative combination of ethereal textures and glitchy elements. It sets the tone for what follows, showcasing Chris Calarco’s maturity as a producer and his ability to craft fully realized compositions.
The final track, “Yield,” closes the EP with a sense of resolution, combining soothing melodies with swift, luscious sounds, leaving a lasting impression on the listener. For fans of atmospheric and genre-bending electronic music, “Abstract Facts” is a must-listen.
