Musically graceful, and emotionally exquisite, two Scottish gentlemen showcase tremendous spirit in the track “Ae Fond Kiss.” Ryan MacKenzie specializes in constructing touching melodies on the piano, while Luca Manning’s soulful voice keeps us company. The song “Ae Fond Kiss” is actually a modern rendition of a classic by Robert Burns a renowned Scottish poet and lyricist. So, it’s pretty refreshing to hear such heartfelt tribute coming alive through delicate instrumentation and a singer’s allure.
The entire song is immensely poetic. From the clean vocal arrangement to the classical instrumental pieces, everything has a smooth pace that is pleasant to hear. I don’t know about you folks, but whenever violins and pianos come together it always gives off this essence of sophistication. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of genres out there that pertain to a similar vibe. However, this piece has an excellent sound, polished to the core! Something about the softness in the singer’s voice that seems to match exactly the piano’s cadence. The entire flow of the tempo, guided by brush-style percussion was a nice addition and contributed to the song’s hook.
Hearing Ae Fond Kiss by Ryan MacKenzie and Luca Manning simply delighted me. If you’re an avid fan of classical music, and jazzy vocals, then please do seek this track out. The lyricism and ethos behind the song were interesting, and I hope it resonates with you as well!
