If you are anything like me, who personally loves moody, post-punk, art-pop, and dark electronic sounds soaking in reverb, you might just love everything “Angel with Fangs” is about.
Gallowayyys finally released the full album this April 14th for us music lovers to enjoy—and boy, is it intense! He really experimented and did his homework behind the scenes to bring an avant-garde hip-hop rhythm to the profound electro cave. Through his music, you can feel the neon bulbs glow in a dystopian or NYC alley at night. The one-man army behind the project, Gallowayyys, whom we know as Blake Alexander, is backed by hip-hop artist and rapper Sterling VanDamme and Toucan O for some guitar chords, giving the genre another field to swing into.
The 10-track album “Angel with Fangs” swings from the first track’s debonair to a few latter tracks’ debilitating tone, like in the track “Tyler Durden,” where he admits to his mistakes and vows to “make it worth it” even though “things ain’t perfect.” “Pink Lemonade-Electric Chop,” out of all these tracks, is the closest to dance pop with its upbeat club rhythm. Having the album end with “Buried Alive,” we get to really see where the character considers himself to be mentally. At the end of the day, he’s just guilted, a phase that we can all relate to and a phase much to learn from.
Let “Angel with Fangs” be your next musical stop and start on a journey with this aspiring artist, Gallowayyys.
