Ollella will take you to a world of heartfelt beauty with her voice, her cello, and her tenor guitar in her Indie Folk album, Back Back Back. Ollella’s voice, delivery, and lyricism are all genuinely presented in each track.
Back Back Back confounds you in an instrumental phase of 11 sonorous tracks with Ollella’s cello and tenor guitar, Jordan Cunningham on the electric guitar, slide guitar, sonic textures, and organ, and Forrest Marowitz’ part with the bass and guitar. Revolving around various emotions, like the titular track introducing the album with a descriptive lyricism, showcasing the smallest joys in life coming from the mundaneness. The overpowering folklore in the instrumentalism behind makes you want to really be content for once.
Head in the Clouds is a special song, for it was the first single to come out. The first verse sings out, “They tell me it’s a problem that I keep on ending things/I say everyone else holds on too long and clings.” Ollella just knows what to do when to do it, just by intuition. And right before the vintage chaotic and unruly instrumentalism Interlude of Back Back Back, where Ollella presents organic and unstructured folk tunes, we have Tea Kettle Tea, the ode to her very first inspiration—Ollella’s aunt. The ode has a more sonorous side of Ollella come out, sounding ever so emotive and honest. But she is living her newfound self with her truth after losing her “direction” in Knew It All Along.
Having finally taken the final step toward seeking out her dream, Ollella makes you want to go where you know you belong. And we implore you to make a transformative trip to her new album, Back Back Back.
