Jay Willow is a young and promising artist who is making a name for himself in the Canadian music scene. He crafts his own distinctive sound by fusing elements of R&B, alternative, and independent music with a dash of metaphysical flavor. The long-awaited release of his first single, “Energy,” heralded the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his music career.
With engaging melodies and addicting percussion and drum beats, the song manages to stay simple yet utterly riveting. It brings out the mysterious, ambient, and dark tones that are featured in the piece. His voice is seductive, endowed with charm, genuine, and confident, bringing listeners into the narrative as though he is singing the song just for them. The low range is to die for. The lyrics are electrifying, and they depict the magnetic tension that exists between two people who are involved in a romantic relationship. Similar to the moon’s gravity pull on the tidal waves, Willow sees this attraction as an unstoppable and inescapable force of nature. He made a very intriguing comparison, and I think he’s right on the money with it.
Quotable lyrics:
“I see the waves roll off of you
I’ll be the moon and let the current change
Turn your body into waves
Baby I’m just playing games”
To say the least, Jay Willow’s career got off to a fantastic start with the release of “Energy.” We’re very excited to see where his career goes next and can’t wait for his upcoming EP.
