Pilots’ latest album Eyes On The Horizon is a triumphant, full-throttle return to form—if form means blasting vintage alt-rock attitude through modern-day speakers with absolute swagger. From the very first shimmering guitar notes of “Come Alive,” you’re catapulted into a soundscape that’s as anthemic as it is alive with feeling. The Surrey-based rockers are tearing full speed toward it with guitars blazing, drums pounding, and hearts worn boldly on sleeves.
“Is That What You Want” is a gritty, punchy riot, opening with literal sirens as if to warn you you’re about to be hit with something big—and it is big. The guitar riffs rip through with ferocity, the drums hit like a thunderclap, and the vocals drip with a blend of angst and adrenaline.
Meanwhile, “Where Do We Go From Here” feels like a cathartic shout into the void, dressed up in gritty guitars and foot-stomping rhythm. The vocals are confident, almost taunting, while the band locks into a groove that refuses to let up.
Pilots manage to tap into that sweet spot between nostalgic Britpop roots and modern alt-rock intensity, and Eyes On The Horizon proves they’ve fine-tuned that balance to perfection. You can feel echoes of Oasis, a little Verve melancholy, even a dash of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club broodiness—but it’s all filtered through Pilots’ own lens: loud, fearless, and emotionally raw.
Their sold-out album launch at The Water Rats only added fuel to the fire, and with five killer singles already stirring the pot, Pilots are rocketing forward. This album is a ride, and you’ll want front row seats.
