Four Albums in Two Years. Art for Change by Justin John Scheck
Following the release of his debut album From the Cradle, musician/producer Justin John Scheck has announced the release of his new album, โA Drunk Monkโs Morning Daydreams On A Distant Planet Far Far Away Right About Now,โ along with the release of the first single, โAt First Sight.โ
Over the course of the next two years, he intends to write, record, and produce four concept albums, with one being released every six months. The first book in the series, which heโs dubbed The Blue Collar Diaries, will be released on November 11, 2022, but it will be made exclusively available on Bandcamp on November 1st, the same day as the single. He is fusing the production styles of Hip Hop, Indie Garage Rock, and Indie Pop while continuing his experimentation with an MPC, electric guitar, midi keyboard, and computer. A drunk Monk nearing the end of his life who has lost faith and regrets leaving the woman he loved for the church all those years ago is the protagonist of the new album.
A daydream about the first time he ever saw her is depicted in โAt First Sight.โ JJS plays 15 songs totaling just under an hour, including Anthropologist, Theologian, and Lonely Drunk. Additionally, JJS is collaborating with Hope House in Kansas City, Missouri, a nonprofit organization that aids domestic violence victims and their children. All, indeed all, of the album sales will benefit Hope House, giving fans yet another incentive to buy any of his works of art. Iโm not the first to say it, but I do have what Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos will never have, he responds when asked why. Enough.โ
Other than his plans for the final release, he isnโt revealing anything else about what is to come. The Blue Collar Diariesโ concluding chapter, A Peasantโs Voice, a political protest album, will be released in late 2024, just before the next Presidential Election. He is an outspoken Progressive who wants to play a role as a global citizen given everything that is at stake.
