FRAME IT by HIGHWAYVES: Review

Once in a while, a song arises that energizes you to the very core. “FRAME IT” is a powerful indie rock track by HIGHWAYVES. It involves the essence of reverbed guitars and a funky bass commanding the groove. But, what piqued my interest the most was the fascinating presence of the singer! They steal the show really and ultimately direct the uplifting force of the track.
Taking me by surprise, my initial assumption of FRAME IT’s genre pertained to shoegaze! However, when the bravado of the drums kicked in, the raw nature of rock and roll presented itself. The sound of HIGHWAYVES is a mish-mash of post-rock, indie, and a bit of alternative rock too. I believe this is because of the tone incorporated in each instrumental sequence. The track starts off on a decent note, and keeping that flow strong was a truly resonant bassline. Aside from that, the singer’s vocal chops kept the song on its feet and the exhilaration intact. All in all, each transition felt aggressive and absolutely in a good way.
You need a release from the absurdity of modern life. Some might call it the rat race, others the 9-5 grind. And what better to keep your sanity intact than the passionate screaming of rock and roll and its drive to keep your soul charged up? Evidently, that’s exactly the sentiment deriving from FRAME IT’s crescendo. As the song comes to a close the vocalist goes full beast mode and lets out an almost otherworldly scream. And that, my friends, is how you conclude a melody.
