Amaya and the Echoes has released the final single from their latest EP, “Echoes Within,” warning a destructive dystopian society this Nov 24. The track is a mesmerizing and unsettling blend of orchestral dark pop and electronic influences influenced by artists such as Au/Ra and FJORA.
The song emerges immersively with lush music swirling and twirling in the air with smooth and creamy curves. They are layered with shimmering glints of music sprinkling down along the music. A surprisingly rich and thick voice emerges, front-up and sensational, emotive, delicate, and tinged with vulnerability.
When she sings, “Ghosts watching over you/Ghosts watching your every move,” you can hear hallowing ghostly atmospheric sounds. The chorus comes in the most shocking way. The electronic lines glitch and buzz as the suspenseful music swirls above. A high and electrifying thin voice sings in an unnerving way. Then, the song flips back to the enchanting lush music.
The sizzlingly infectious song transitions to the bridge with a short pause like a breather because the thin voice turns breathy and hushed as it sings the phrase, “Ghost eyes.” The song concludes with the glitchy pulses laid over the thick molten vocals found in the verses, combining the verses and the chorus in a satisfying crescendo.
Amaya and the Echoes is complete with Farrah (Amaya) on vocals and piano, Del Keys on keyboards, Daf on drums, Jon on guitar (and possibly vocals), and Derek (senior), who contributes offstage with guitars and invaluable support.
If you love what you hear, then guess what, they have their EP release party coming up very soon. They are set to take place on December 7th at Old Queens Head Islington, featuring support from Evy Frearson, Gretchin, and April Jai.
