NHS songwriter Euplasia marks World Autism Day (April 2) with the uplifting pop-rock single “Hidden Power,” a tender, anthemic preview of his debut album You Wonder that celebrates neurodiversity warmly.
From the first breath, “Hidden Power” eases in with gentle, relaxing music, sparkling acoustic guitars that glint like sun on water, and drums that thump softly like a heartbeat. Euplasia’s warm, husky voice sits right in the pocket. It’s intimate, affectionate, and soberly joyful. He opens with the lines, “You take your time/You look around/You notice things without a sound/You understand what people never will.” He’s listing so affectionately, all that goes amiss in the nuanced tenderness of neurodivergents.
As the track unfolds, melodies bloom into a chorus. The hooks are uplifting, designed to make you breathe deeper and grin through a misty eye. Backed by a live-band vibe recorded in a home studio, the arrangement keeps things human. Subtle production choices let acoustic strums shimmer while backing instruments cushion the vocal like soft hands.
The song insists you pay attention, folding small observations into a bigger, kinder map. It’s what you play at family dinners, on lonely buses, or when you need a reminder that difference is strength. Moreover, the lyric “This is your hidden power, you see what we miss, you feel more than this/The world will change because of who you are” functions as both a mantra and a promise.
In short, “Hidden Power” is an outright emotional earworm. It’s soulful, hopeful, and gentle as a dawn chorus. If Euplasia’s goal was to lift, empower, and stick in the memory, consider mission accomplished. And utterly memorable.
