Hollow by Ollie Twohill: Review
Relationships seem like a daydream when we’re in love and it feels just the opposite when it ends in a manner we never wanted it to. The closest person we were hooked with becomes a stranger. “Hollow” was inspired by the recent break up of the singer when his partner broke it off abruptly. He wanted to write a song expressing his feeling about that situation. Which eventually all the listeners could connect to. The feeling of being lost and staying in denial that one-day things might rectify. The lyrics prompt the convincing tone of the singer that things might turn around to be a better day. Maybe his partner will one day show up and say “It was all a bad dream”
The song has catchy bass lines and commanding vocal hooks. The loud drums build the song together and give it an extra effect. It intersected mainstream pop and rock music into a powerful outcome. There is a bass guitar solo on a verse that engages the listeners to a melodious drive of reverie lifting the plucking to an extravaganza of power.
Ollie Twohill is a one-man band. In the last 2 years, he has released 5 singles that were aired on radio USA, Canada, the UK, and many other counties. He wants to connect with his listeners through immensely deep lyrics and soundscapes.
