Hopping The Train by Venustra: Review
The song โHopping The Trainโ by Venustra is a horror punk track that starts off on an ominous note. Then, it immediately rushes into an insane guitar riff.
The guitar playthrough is absolutely lit, and I loved every minute of it. When the vocals enter I felt absolutely drawn to the sound. The growl of the vocalist is absolutely sick, and he manages to maintain the range quite well. The drummer is an absolute beast. The guitarโs tone is very death-metal-ish, and it sounds evil! I mean that in a good way though. Actually, if weโre talking about sounding evil and demonic, itโs the entire song. Man, I miss metal like this when it sounds like heavy concert halls, group headbanging sessions, and mosh pits! Yes! I miss the early days of Cradle of Filth and Lamb of God where the bands had this very unique aesthetic on Thrash and Black Metal.
โHopping The Trainโ by Venustra has a unique harmony with the vocals and keyboard in a certain section which was quite melodic. Away from all the brutal riffs, that aspect is a bit refreshing to hear. For some reason, the song reminded me of Halloween, as it has a very haunting tone. Dear readers, this song is absolute fire and has a very engaging theme of hardcore metal. If youโre a music enthusiast and a bonafide metal fan, then this track is for you.
