Horizon Ignited, a Finnish melodic death metal band, will release Towards The Dying Lands, their debut album under their new Nuclear Blast Records agreement, on July 1.
To heat up and celebrate the forthcoming next huge milestone in their career, the Finns have released their brand new single, “Reveries,” which includes a music video. The band once again impresses with blazing riffs, demonstrating what to expect in the near future. You may listen to the song here and watch the video below.
“‘Reveries’ is a song about losing all hope and sinking in misery that you can’t escape from,” the band said of the new single. What’s it like to lose your sense of self and humanity? How deep are the scars left by grief and loss? Horizon Ignited’s fundamental lyrical themes are wrapped by a tune that isn’t your average Horizon Ignited song. The big and melodious intro and choruses give the listener a sense of hope, which is quickly dashed by the thundering verses. The struggle between the song’s two main topics generates an intriguing contrast in the lyrics. The song’s music video was shot at Lammaskallion Audio during the band’s pre-production session for the Towards The Dying Lands album.
The movie combines raw footage of the band performing the song with aerial footage taken on the same day, which turned out to be one of the most gorgeous days of fall 2019. Miska Ek, a keyboardist, and Johannes Mäkinen, a guitarist, edited the video. Reveries” is aggressive, melancholy, and lyrical.

Founded back in 2017 by guitarists Johannes Mäkinen and Vili Vottonen, the debut album After the Storm was unleashed when the northern winds choked Horizon Ignited’s hometown of Kouvola in early 2019. The completely self-published album met very positive feedback and the band has made its mark since then.
