Inayah is working on a new album. The new single “Always Something” off her upcoming sophomore album, Insecure, has been released. Oscar-nominated super-producer Dixson and Omari “G.O.” Massenburg contributed to the script (DaniLeigh, Rotimi).
With finger snaps and a steady electric guitar, “Always Something” is a relatable track that talks straight to the single lady juggling family, job, and everything else. She wants and deserves time for me to unwind and recharge, but she understands that it’s impossible to do while she’s always on call for someone else.
Inayah released a video for her song “Always Something.” It covers the lives of many people as they attempt to balance their personal lives.
Inayah added a second image to the campaign for “Always Something,” which showed her helping to promote Insecure. Inayah plays two different versions of herself in the video, one as a new mom and the other as a turn-up queen.
Over a piano sample from Beethoven’s immortal piece “Fur Elise,” she sums up the album’s own direction.
Certain words are highlighted throughout the two-minute video, giving the idea that they are actual song titles from the album.
Following the release of her Side A EP in June 2021, “Always Something” is the first taste of new music from Inayah. S.O.L.A.R., her first official album, was released in December 2019. The 12-song set included the fan favorite “Best Thing,” which has had over 54.8 million Spotify streams.
Inayah recently performed at Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit.
