IN THE VIDEO FOR ‘GONE MIA,’ POOH SHIESTY DEFIANTLY ADDRESSES THE FLORIDA GUN CHARGE.
Pooh Shiesty has heard his destiny in relation to a gun accusation stemming from a fight in Florida, and despite the fact that he will be spending time, the rapper isn’t giving up hope. The New 1017 rapper dropped a music video for “Gone MIA” from Shiesty Season on Monday (April 25).
Omar directed the film. Pooh Shiesty is found by the Director discussing the episode that placed him in prison for five years. The film begins with a news report that details the altercation, from Shiesty’s real name to the color and make of the car he drove away from the crime site in 2020.
Fans then see what looks to be the same bright green McClaren speeding down a road in Los Angeles, California, as a symbol of the Memphis-bred rapper’s resistance. Shiesty begins playing the song from an unidentified location in the City of Angels, as the video proceeds.
“Fuck it, I woke up, I dropped a ten (yes), ’cause that’s just how I’m feelin’ (feelin’)/Favorite strap when I’m out of state (travel), a“Fuck it, woke up, I drop a ten (yeah), ’cause it’s just how I’m feelin’ (feelin’)/Favorite strap when I’m outta state (travel), all the shots comin’ with me (blrrrd)/Slimeball, coated McLaren, tryna see if it go 250 (yeah)/I sipped the whole eight to the face (face), not made but this time I was trippin’ (damn)/Ayy, ayy, now maybe this time I was trippin’ (yeah),” Pooh Shiesty raps.
Since June 2021, the “Back In Blood” rapper has been incarcerated and was just sentenced to 63 months in prison. The charge arises from an altercation in Florida’s Bay Harbor Islands, in which Pooh Shiesty is accused of shooting someone in the backside after he and two other persons reportedly robbed a victim after meeting up for a transaction.
Pooh Shiesty’s defense lawyer, Brad Cohen, said in a March filing that the rapper would never conduct such a crime with all of his fame in the rap game.
“The government wants this court to think that Mr. Williams, who has a net worth of $3,449,446, plotted a robbery, conducted a robbery, and then shot a known drug dealer who knew him well and could easily identify him,” according to the petition. “All for a few hundred dollars in personal drug deals, while he was driving a lime green McLaren he rented from the alleged victim.”
