Jaya Blues Band drops breathtaking new track ‘Another Way’
The band’s debut album features ten distinctive original songs written by Craig Ewers, with some of the songs also co-written by Dolf Wemay and Finggo van Leun. The album was created by Dolf Wemay in a number of studios between 2020 and 22 when live music was prohibited. With the song’s title, PESTA, the band switches between traditional blues, jazz, and Americana before going back to its island roots.
In 2018, the renowned Jaya Pub in Jakarta saw the formation of the Jaya Blues Band, which now performs original music and classic covers in bars and jazz venues across Indonesia. The Jaya’s first owner’s son, Franky Tumbuan, formed the group with Australian Craig Ewers and Japanese guitarist Chick Hirai. Later, Lea Oesman, legendary bassist and singer Dolf Wemay, master guitarist Finggo van Leun, and keyboardist Elie Supusepa joined the group. In 2020, Chick went back to Japan, but she still contributed to the album’s track Bringing Back the Blues.
