My Life So Far by Ava Bryant: Review
Lift your feet because Ava Bryant is here to make a splash with her well-articulated vocals in “My Life So Far”, with a hint of Kate Bush and pop artists from the 2010s era.
The 5 tracks in her brilliant little collection have really taken me by surprise! She’s got a jazz about life, a liveliness in her mid-life crisis-like the question in her track “who the hell am i?” She’s got the perfect blend of Taylor Swift-like voice especially in “it’s so fun!”, but in a higher tone, and a fun musical flavor that is almost like Katy Perry’s. “give me you” is one of my favorite songs in the entire EP. It’s catchy, beautifully harmonized, and intricate until the very last second! The final song “we’ll be okay” makes me think it’s straight out of a series finale like “New Girl” or any show that has a female protagonist, wiser and self-aware, transitioning to a different life.
There are so many resemblances I find in her music, so it’s hard to take only a few names, but if you’re that kid who grew up with good pop music, you’ll be able to relate. It was hard picking a favorite from the album, and I don’t say this lightly. Ava Bryant is absolutely impressive, flawless, and effortless all at the same time. She makes me feel nostalgic, even with her new zest for life and a vibrancy that’s quite hard to come across these days. I really hope that you enjoy this EP as much as I did.
