Bullyfish gets smug and all fired up with his latest EP, No Ops Left. Released this Aug 6, James Barrett under his moniker showcases his unique blend of electronic and hip-hop influences, creating a sound that is both innovative and engaging.
The EP opens with “Drag Gang,” immediately grabbing your attention with infectious beats tapping softly like trippy pebbles as the music relaxingly floats. And of course, Bullyfish’s charismatic rapping style and attitude are sure to get you hooked on the catchiness of the whole package.
“Still Counting” comes up next with shimmering melodies and a cascading immersion that gets us inundated in the vibe before the beats drop hard and steady and get us head-nodding while hypnotized in the flow. It brings an introspective mood that washes over Bullyfish’s rapping style with gravity and sombreness. Naturally, his rapping is much more intense and smug here amidst the ethereal harmonies and ambience.
“Come On” opens up with a glimmering vibrancy of sweet but reverbed vocals singing dreamily. The catchy, glitzy beat leaves behind an electrifying pulse for the rapper to continue. It definitely brings No Ops Left to a satisfying end.
No Ops Left is a fantastic EP for all hip-hop fans to enjoy rap and hip-hop. It also sets a mood in a small package that showcases Bullyfish’s talent as a musician and songwriter. If you’re looking for a great artist to engage you in momentous music, Bullyfish is definitely worth checking out.
