Bringing to you an electrifying and driving atmospheric album, “Repine Forest,” I Forget Myself, personally known as Dan, has proven his deftness at composing, producing, recording, and performing once again in 2023 while also being a singer/songwriter and multiinstrumentalist for more than two decades. This is the fifth time he has shown us his capabilities with his fifth album in just a span of three years. Repine Forest has 11 tracks with indie electronic music booming with alternative rock in the most spacey way, showcasing the aural imagery of a hollow escapade.
The album being diverse, ranging from rock to indie, it pulls listeners of different tastes with its distinctive tracks. We know people love them because they’ve gathered thousands of plays on Spotify already. The heavy guitar riffs combined with synths in different tones set the tracks apart. But what pulls them together are the vocals. The light and airy distorted vocals evoke a certain depth and grunge in the rather bold yet ambient instrumentals. To balance the reverberating depth, the drums replenish the space with their thrumming pace. And behind these drums, we have Kyle Reece Williams with the drumsticks. For the songs to come out this effectively variegated while being tied to a certain signature effect, the mixing had to be superior. I Forget Myself’s studio mixing engineer Johan Heyns made it possible.
I Forget Myself has already caught fire with his music and content slowly gaining more and more recognition. Now it’s time for you to find him out for yourself. “Repine Forest” by I Forget Myself is available on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, YouTube, and so many more stations.
