Reverberations by Nevaris: Album Review
“Reverberations” is a sensational album carved to perfection by Nevaris, a talented artist who deals with the likes of Afro-Latin and funk music. The roots of the aforementioned genres date back decades, especially the first one. With roots in old-school cinema, video game OSTs, and just the coolest clubs in town, these sounds are amazing to hear and jam out to. That being said, you can rest assured that each track of “Reverberations” will excite you to the very core, non-stop.
Nevaris’ musical style is a combination of a few genres. As mentioned earlier, the sounds of Afro-Latin, with a bit of funk are present, firstly in the opening song “Dub Sol”. The track does this through chicano-rock-inspired bass lines and rhythms. And for listeners who are new to that sort of thing, “Frequencia” and “Lockatronic” can paint a picture of an introductory party at Puerto Vallarta (which is a picturesque beach hotspot in Mexico) and a merry band of artists from trumpeters to bass maestros jamming like there’s no tomorrow. That should give you the perfect idea of Afro-Latin and its rich sound. Thus, the record’s a perfect mixture of that aura, from its groovy percussion sequences. The tempo is very easy to hear and is the ideal party mix, that’s for sure.
Nevaris, your music has surely piqued my intrigue! I look forward to hearing more of your songs, as I’m sure will your many fans. So, with that said, folks, please don’t miss out on the magic of “Reverberations” by Nevaris!
