Orange County-based hard rock/blues band Costavina bends their tunes to a new chapter with this year’s first release, “Save Me.” Released on Feb 2, Costavina soaks up the blues with tension and passion, teasing us with what more may come next.
From the moment the song begins, we are drawn into a world of gnarled-up guitars and suspenseful melodies. The layers of steely cold riffs graze, leaving a trail of tension and anticipation behind, setting the stage for what’s to come. As the instrumentals grind and build, Paul enters with ominous whispers, adding to the brooding atmosphere.
As the song progresses, the music opens up with thumping drums and shrill guitar bends, harmonizing with menacing engagement and an earful of sound enveloping us. Paul’s sultry and emotive voice, enhanced by his thick and deep timbre, gives the song another level of sensuality. He fills his delivery with vulnerability as he croons for salvation, redefining power through raw emotion. His delivery brings a balance and a softness through the vehement spirit of the instruments. It’s giving attitude and also a fiery spirit.
Mark “Save Me” as a turning point for Costavina. They are already evolving their sound and music and trying new things with their creative genius as a rising band that just started last year.
With “Save Me,” Costavina proves they are a force to be reckoned with in the hard rock/blues scene. Keep an eye on Costavina as they make waves with their unique sound and undeniable talent.
