Screaming Babies by Todd Morse: Review
Todd Morse is a Los Angeles and Las Vegas-based musician who has spent over two decades singing performing, and rising as an all-rounded instrumentalist. Morse’s track “Screaming Babies” mixes the rhythm essence of ska with the attitude of punk rock in an effort to create an entertaining hit.
The song starts off like a melodic whisper before launching into an explosive tempo. The basslines on the track have a funktastic edge with elements of reggae and ska incorporated. What I enjoy about ska music is that if you pick the right blend of genres it can practically mix with anything. In this case, the guitar solo sections and the riffs portions have a soothing sequence connecting with each drum and bass. The singer is quite passionate and delivers the punch needed to complete the gripping meaning of the track.
According to Todd Morse, the track “Screaming Babies” has a rather contemporary meaning on par with the “Karens” of our society. So, such complaining and whining adults have found their way into the number, and Todd Morse is no stranger to creating a melody from it. The fast-paced tone, along with the musical poetry in the form of rock tunes come alive for an all-out aggressive sensation. So if you’re a fan of energetic numbers that can enliven your day then perhaps give this song a try. Filled with layers of alternative rock and ska, it can surely be an interesting genre fusion to experience.
