Shelter in Place by Mike and Mandy: Review
Amanda Pajer and Producer-Arranger-Songwriter Michael Faulkner are two halves of Mike and Mandy. Their EP titled โShelter in Placeโ features a wide range of musical styles. Individuals living alone inspired the development of โShelter in Placeโ. A well-sung song can bring relief and peace of mind. Mike and Mandy are hoping that you find listening to them as relaxing as they did when producing them.
Hereโs a breakdown and brief analysis of what each song in the EP sounds like โ (by the way all of them were incredible, hard to pick a favorite)
Are You Now โ A lovely moody pop song infused with soothing a ukulele rhythm. Its on-time beat sequence and electronica factors make it a brilliant start to the EP.
Wormhole โ A laid-back track, with a reggae-style bass guitar accompanying it. Singerโs voice is more intense and personal.
Tesseract โ A sensational track filled with disco vibes. Fast strumming guitars, a bumpy bass arrangement, and angelic voices in the background are just remarkable. Kinda reminds me of ABBA!
Ricochet โ This is where the EP reaches its Zenith, the duo really outdid themselves here. The music here is just so energetic and oozes attitude. Itโs a bit like surf rock, and funk with more influence coming its way from old-school pop songs from the 90s. Loving the vibe!
Lovesong โ A resonating tune that will make you feel absolutely captivated. From the passionate build-up to the more fierce elements of the percussion, bass guitar, and synth everything will feel soothing to your ears.
Dear readers, you will find peace in the music of Mike and Mandy. Trust me, theyโre a duo that will stand the test of time with their sound.
