The Bethel Island, California singer-songwriter and producer turns post-breakup longing into an intimate, soulful confession, drawing on the messy difficulty of moving forward when your heart has not quite caught up with reality.
The track opens on a shimmer, floating into view with dreamy textures before a deep bass hit gives the song some serious gravity. From there, hard-hitting drums push beneath a layer of glistening, airy instrumentation, creating an interesting contrast between emotional weight and almost weightless atmosphere. It feels like being caught between two states: wanting to let go while still drifting back toward what was.
Kammeyer’s vocals keep things grounded. He sings softly and emotionally as he delivers the line, “It hasn’t been easy since you been gone,” hitting us with the blunt truth of missing someone who is no longer there. His voice carries the ache without turning it into melodrama.
