Something by Wotts: Review
A fusion of pop, rock, and electronic, “Something” is a beautiful love song. Featuring guitar riffs with 80’s style drums. The rhythm and tempo are right at best sync which surely makes the listeners chill and sway. It has analog synths and multi-instruments that have been used in the music arrangement. The repeated chord progression patterns a melodic rhythm followed by solo instrumental accompaniment.
Jayem quotes “If someone can vibe with this song and forget about the bad stuff, that’s mission accomplished for us” This gives the audience a clear indication that this is a mood-changing song. A song that will help them release anxieties or stress. It’s the best way to disconnect yourself from negativity and let the goodness of the song fall on you.
Wotts is an Ontario, Canada-based duo of Vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jayem and bassist/ Guitarist Ricky 100. They mostly focus on indie pop but love to explore new genres and sounds. Wotts has performed in mentionable platforms. Like Canadian Music Week, RBC Bluesfest, Junofest, and many more.
This nostalgic pop song is about being in a void while waiting for someone to decide if they want to keep you in their life.
“Don’t throw away. Can’t be all for anything. No…
Just gotta wait we will turn it into something“
These lyrics Discernibly show the want in someone’s voice to be in a person’s life.
